Topping is a method of hardening a concrete floor with a top layer coating. This technology increases the strength and wear resistance of the coating. It is used in a mildly aggressive or non-aggressive operating environment.
In order for the finished floor to withstand the load, the type of installed concrete screeds is taken into account, bulk (liquid) mixtures or dry hardeners are selected.
Liquid topping – contains inorganic soluble compounds that penetrate deeply into the porous composition of concrete, significantly increasing strength.
Dry topping – contains Portland cement, polymer additives and mineral compounds. It is used on a flat, fresh concrete base.

Where concrete floors with topping are used
Topping floors are used in industrial, commercial, public facilities and premises, let's list the main ones:

Topping floor hardening is an effective and inexpensive solution for most concrete foundations, with a service life, without deformation of up to 15 years.
Topping laying technology
The laying process consists of several sequential steps:

We check the absence of height differences of the freshly laid concrete base. If necessary, we strengthen the reinforcing frame to equalize the height. We recommend using reinforced concrete grades.

We measure the required filling thickness, taking into account the current height differences, high load zones. A layer of up to 12cm is poured using a concrete pump.

We grind the concrete until a smooth freshly laid surface is obtained.

We produce a primary coarse grout on cement milk with the application of a dry hardening mixture. The mixture is applied with a dosing trolley and equalized with special tools.

Rubbing the hardener with special rotary machines with grout blades.

The last stage is coating with a special varnish and polymer impregnations, to protect against rapid evaporation of moisture, and to set the declared strength.

The cost of laying reinforced floors depends on the installation technology, the thickness of the base and the area, taking into account height differences, the type of materials used.
